I love the simplicity of a small child's prayer. There's no hesitation and worry of using the right words. They don't worry about Thees and Thous they just lay out their requests and rightly assume that God hears them and will answer.

When Jesus taught His disciples the Lord's Prayer He used that same simplicity. It is a wonderful example of how we should approach the Father and an easy template to teach our children. Rick Warren and Richard Jesse Watson have taken these timeless words and added beautiful illustrations and thoughts that will encourage you and your children to not only learn this portion of Scripture but to also apply it in all situations.

I like that The Lord's Prayer: Words of Hope and Happiness is presented in this new board book format. This is definitely a book that will be read over and over in our house so durability in the hands of little ones counts!

I also appreciate the subtle way that Rick Warren puts the Scripture into repeatable segments and also includes a short thought on what that particular segment means. The King James Version is beautifully lyrical but often the verbiage is confusing to little ones (and sometimes adults). The illustrations are stunningly life-like and had us all mesmerized.

I heartily recommend this book to all families. If you are looking for a new way to help your kids learn the Lord's Prayer this book is a great resource.

The Lord's Prayer is now put into children's form. What a great idea! With some of the most lifelike illustrations and written for children to understand, the author Rick Warren has brought the light of hope to our little ones in a very profound way. I myself, never knew anything about The Lord's Prayer until I was in high school and this is coming from a girl that grew up in church. But now my children can know all about it from the beginning.

Written in board book style and geared toward ages 4-8 it is a great way to introduce this prayer o them and what it means.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. All opinions are my own. (Posted on 11/16/2016)

When this book first arrived at our house, we originally set down with the intentions of reading it front to back. However, once I got started I changed my mind. What we did end up doing was starting from the front and just focusing on the Lord's Prayer. Once we finished reading that part, and admiring the beautiful illustrations, we then went back through the book and read the segments that went along with each part of the prayer. By breaking it down, I felt that it gave my little one a greater understand of the prayer as a whole. (Posted on 11/5/2016)

“The Lord’s Prayer – Words of Hope and Happiness” was sent to me from Zonderkidz – a division of Zondervan Publishing – free of charge, in exchange for my honest review of it.
“The Lord’s Prayer” is a children’s fiction board book. I love board books because tiny children can enjoy them without the fear of them tearing them to shreds. This storybook was written by Rick Warren, the well-known pastor of Saddleback Church. He has also written many adult non-fiction books, like “The Purpose-Driven Life”, and also Bible studies. The darling illustrations were done by Richard Jesse Watson.
In this book, Pastor Warren explains each line of the Lord’s Prayer so that a child can understand it…in only one or two sentences. Each section also includes a one sentence “Thank You” prayer.
I’d recommend this to any child. I’d also recommend it to teachers, librarians, parents, grandparents, and anyone else who reads to children.

This dynamic duo, author, Rick Warren and illustrator Richard Jesse Watson collaborated on publishing one of the best (in my opinion) books about the Lord’s Prayer for your pre-school age children ever!

They take each line and explain, in easy to understand language, what it means along with a line of thanksgiving. It not only teaches your child the Bible, but also teaches them prayer and praise.

The book its self is a beautifully illustrated hard-cover book and those illustrations don’t stop there…they continue through-out the entire book. Each page will be sure to delight your child as you read them the story of “The Lord’s Prayer”. The pages are board-like pages making it easy for your little one to grasp as they turn the pages and easy to wipe off from those sticky little fingers.

In my opinion, this is one of those “WOW” books.

Disclosure: I was given a copy of this Book by the publisher, Zondervan, Z Blog Squad, blogger review program, for an honest review. I was not required to write a favorable review nor was I compensated for my review. The opinions in this review are my own.
