About the Contributor(s) Jan & Mike Berenstain

Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962. Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too.  Though Stan died in 2005, and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create the delightful Bear adventures from his studio in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.

The Berenstain Bears' Caring and Sharing Treasury is a hardcover book that has 5 books in 1. The Berenstain Bears' Caring and Sharing Treasury includes: "The Berenstain Bears Jobs Around Town", "The Berenstain Bears Get Involved", "The Berenstain Bears Love Their Neighbors", "The Berenstain Bears Gossip Gang", "The Berenstain Bears and the Biggest Brag".

The Berenstain Bears Jobs Around Town gives a quick look at a wide variety of jobs that Brother and Sister Bear might do when they grow up. I found the voice/perspective of the book to be confusing, but other than that I enjoyed it.

The Berenstain Bears Get Involved shows Brother and Sister Bear and the rest of the Cub Club learning about helping others in need, and they get to put their learning into action when flooding hits their town.

The Berenstain Bears Love Their Neighbors is a take on the story of the Good Samaritan. Although I could have done without the country stereotypes in this book, I thought it was a good take on the familiar parable.

In The Berenstain Bears Gossip Gang, Sister learns about gossip - from multiple perspectives.

In The Berenstain Bears and the Biggest Brag, Brother and Sister Bear learn that bragging is not a loving thing to do. I appreciate the moral of this book, but wish it had been handled in a different way. Throughout most of the book, Brother and Sister Bear are bragging, rather than learning their lesson. I wish they had learned their lesson sooner and maybe even learned some alternatives to bragging (like building each other up). I also didn't care for how Grizzly Gramps talks to Brother and Sister Bear about their bragging - he calls them "two of the biggest, bragging-est fools". In the end, however, Brother and Sister Bear start to get the idea and apologize for their bragging.

At the end of The Berenstain Bears' Caring and Sharing Treasury is a page of questions and activities based on the 5 stories - a nice addition to some good books.

“The Berenstain Bears Caring and Sharing Treasury” was sent to me by Zonderkidz - a division of Zondervan Publishing – free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.

“Caring and Sharing Treasury” is another children’s picture book, in the Berenstain Bears collection. This one is a collection of five stories. Mike Berenstain took over for his mom and dad in writing and illustrating this series. I love the Berenstains, and have been reading them since I was a little girl. I read them to my boys when they were little. And, now I read them to my grandchildren. I look forward to the day when my grandbabies read them to their own children. They have always taught good manners and morals, and now they include God’s Word in them. They also include questions to talk about and ways to put what they’ve taught into action.

In “The Berenstain Bears’ Caring and Sharing Treasury” we see five different stories in one book. The first book is “Jobs Around Town” which teaches the cubs that God gives us all different talents. They explore different times around town…like an astronaut, an engineer, a farmer, plus many others. The second book is “Get Involved”. The cubs are in a club where they do lots of fun things, and also learn how to help others. One of the things they did was help with building a barrier of sandbags in town when a rainstorm came. The third book is “Love Their Neighbors”. They went through their neighborhood admiring all the fancy, elite house. They had one neighbor, though, who lived in a rundown shack, who they didn’t like. They had a problem that all of the elites just ignored…Only one neighbor came through for them. They learned that things aren’t always as they seem. “Gossip Gang” is the fourth book. In it they learn that gossip hurts and, when someone is gossiping to you about someone else, they’re probably also gossiping about you to others. The last book is “The Berenstain Bears, and The Biggest Brag” about boasting and bragging.

I really like this book and would recommend it to young readers and those who read to and teach them.

These stories are bundled into one book, the following is my review of each story.
Caring and Sharing Treasury
5 books in 1
Jobs Around Town
The bears take a trip around Beartown to see what they might want to be when they grow up. A cute story that brings God into discovering the talents each might have to help them determine the type of career they might choose. Great drawings around the small city of Beartown, will catch the attention of kids. The pictures are eye-catching and humorous for children. A great story that also includes a strong faith message. 4 stars from this reviewer.

Get Involved
This book is a great introduction to children about the many ways they can be involved in their city, church, school and at home. The faith message is very clear, and balanced. A flood on the river will have all of the Bear family involved in helping those who live on the river. A great book for kids to learn about being involved. 4 stars. Super cute.

Love Their Neighbors
An absolutely adorable book about who our neighbors are, and how we shouldn't judge on first impressions. This book is a good book for kids, because we live in a world where looks and status are at the top of the ways people judge others. Truly you might compare this story to the Good Samaritan. The faith message is here, woven through the story. It is a good story that shows children that everyone we think is good neighbors might not be helpful in the time of distress. 5 stars

Gossip Gang
Well, this title should have parents very interested in what their children will learn from this book. These stories have underlying messages in them, they aren't just for entertainment. Sister Bear is having a lesson about what gossip is and how it hurts others. Sister found out how much it hurts for her friends to talk about her. She lashes out in anger, but soon learns that is not how to solve the problem. A great story that will help kids realize that even children are prone to gossip and it hurts. 4.5 stars

The Biggest Brag
Do you like hearing people brag? Brother Bear and Sister Bear seem to have a habit of trying to out-do each other with their talents and good deeds. Well, they try to out-brag each other. Mama and Papa Bear realize they have to deal with this in a proper manner. Even cloud watching brings out a competitive streak in the siblings that leaves each cub upset and angry. Grizzly Gramps will help them see the error of their ways. A good story. 4 stories. (Posted on 7/8/2016)

You all know I love these books and this is a great deal! 5 books in a hard cover book and on Zondervan it is only $10.99! That is a great price! What a deal!!
Thanks Zondervan for sending me this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% mine.

I really love the "Gossip Gang" story along with "The Biggest Brag." The lesson in the story was absolutely perfect for my kids to be hearing and discussing with me.

If you have read any of my other Berenstain Bear book reviews than you know how much I do like them. I like how they always have topics that are relevant and important for us to sit and talk with our kids about. I like how you read the story and kids start making connections to their own life about things they have done in the past!

If you haven't ever read one of these books get your hands on this 5 in 1! (Posted on 6/17/2016)

The Berenstain Bears' Caring and Sharing Treasury by Mike Berenstain is an amazing collection of Berenstain Bears books! I absolutely love that there's 5 books in one and that they're all about caring and sharing. My family love the Berenstain Bears so it's no surprise we love this collection of books. Caring and sharing are very important and definitely something we work on daily in my busy home. With 4 kids in the house we often have issues with both caring and sharing. Since beginning to read these books at bed time my kids have become much more caring towards one another but also towards others. I have caught them sharing when they haven't even been asked to and I'm blown away at how my kids attitudes have changed. The Berenstain Bears' Caring and Sharing Treasury is the perfect book to teach kids both how to care and share and having seen the impact it's made in my house I highly recommend The Berenstain Bears' Caring and Sharing Treasury! Disclosure: I received product(s) for free, in exchange for my honest review. I only recommend products I've used personally, and believe will be good fit for consumers. (Posted on 6/14/2016)

I have a family of Berenstain Bears lovers so they are always excited to see a new book from them. Imagine their delight when they got Caring and Sharing Treasury that has 5 books in 1!

This hard bound book includes five favorite Bereinstain Bear books focusing on, you guessed it, caring and sharing!

The titles include:

Jobs Around Town
Get Involved
Love Their Neighbors
Gossip Gang
The Biggest Brag
We had a couple of these books already but not all of them. I love having them all in one place! This makes the perfect book to take along on road trips or when we go camping so that I don't have to bring a bunch of separate books. We can enjoy several of our favorite bear stories in one place!

I think our favorite of the five is Love Their Neighbors. It's a Bible verse I repeat to my kids often and something we are really focusing on this summer. The kids love having the bears teach them lessons and I love that they listen more to the bears so they know it's not just me!

The Berenstain Bears always have teachings straight from the Bible and lessons that help little kids as they are growing up and experiencing so many struggles in life. Five books in one is a great value! (Posted on 6/14/2016)

Finally! I have been waiting for this treasury to happen and it's finally here! We are a bear loving family especially this character driven family. They are the epitome of everything good in my childhood and long standing tradition with me. I want my children to have them in their lives, as well. So we rush to review any and every book about them.

I'm happy about the treasury because instead of the very large space reserved for all thing Berenstain--a treasury would compress that space. Included in the collection or treasury as it were are Jobs Around Town, Get Involved, Love Their Neighbors, Neighbor in Need, and Gossip Gang. Five great stories that teach our children great character values to live by as children and as adults. These stories are great for adults, too.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. (Posted on 6/13/2016)
