These books are priceless. Teaching your child stories from the Bible, all the while increasing their reading skills. I recommend these books for all young readers. The art work makes me think of the children's stories I remember reading as a kid from Arc Books. Bright colorful. The story of Esther is a favorite Bible story for me, and it was a no brainer picking this book to review. I loved it, and I think you will too! 5 stars from this reviewer. (Posted on 7/13/2015)

I have reviewed a number of the I Can Read Series and this story of Brave Queen Esther was another great addition to the series. As I have said before, I like this series as it gives young readers the chance to read a book that is based on a Bible story.

I think illustrations are important to a book for kids. I enjoyed the illustrations in this book.

I enjoyed the overall story as well. I think it is important to remember that this book is written for kids, so it doesn’t include every detail. I think the title is important because the focus of this story was on the bravery of Esther.

Overall, I was happy with this book. I enjoyed the story and the illustrations. I think I would have liked this book as a young reader and would have been happy to be able to read it.

Queen Esther was one brave lady that would do whatever it would take to save her people and its a good thing to let children know that there were real princesses and queens in the Bible. And that they were honorable women, honorable to Christ. Mordecai and Esther come up with a plan to save the Jews from death, but Esther had to carry it out. It was a very dangerous situation. Esther trusted God because she was so very afraid and God protected her.

Brave Queen Esther, is a book perfect for the 4-8 age group. It is also a level 2 reading book, which means can be read but with help. Queen Esther is a great role model for young girls.

I have a five year old daughter named Paige and she is not into reading as my seven year old because she can't quite do it on her own yet, BUT she is all about things like Queens and these days it seems it just has to have a girl in it to appeal to her!

I like that the title Brave Queen Esther included the word brave because she WAS brave and all girls should be taught this and encouraged to be the same! In a world of Disney Princesses it's nice to have a real life example of bravery and integrity for little girls to look up to.

I think Paige expected to see carriages and balls and all the things that royalty do in her view so it was a nice opportunity to really talk about a Queen, her job and her reality.

This is a longer and more detailed version of the story than we've read before and it opened the door to a lot of great conversations. At the end we meet Esther and Mordecai in more detail and like my son, she really liked the "Did You Know" section. In fact, I learned something new here as well! (Posted on 4/25/2015)

I can read books published by ZonderKidz can help your child develop good reading skills while encouraging their spiritual growth.

Esther is one of my favorite Bible stories. The story of Esther is written in easy to understand format, telling the reason Easter was chosen to be Queen of a non-Jewish King. It tells how her faith in God helps to save her people, even though it was dangerous for her to do so. This beautifully illustrated and simply written book is sure to delight your child and if you are reading it to them it will remind you that God is in control of every aspect of our lives and will guide us in all things if we let Him.

Since little girls love stories about queens “Esther” is sure to be a favorite. I would highly recommend this book for any child ages 4-8

One of my favorite Bible stories to share with my kids to encourage them to be courageous and bold in their faith. I love to remind them that they have a purpose and are powerful princes and princesses of the most high God. The story is told in an understanding way for developing readers. All of the words are appropriate for developing readers to read or sound out.
The pictures are wonderful to bring this Bible story to life. I also am glad that this story did not go into detail how Haman was put to death... I will save those details once my children are old enough! I will keep the G rated stories a priority for my young children.
I mentioned comparing this book to having courage but I also think you can discuss standing up to bullies, following the path God has for you life, having wisdom in a very tricky situation, and fearless faith in trusting God when Esther could have faced death.
This book is a must have for your library to continue to raise your children knowing and understanding Bible stories! (Posted on 4/22/2015)

There are several books in the I Can Read! / Adventure Bible series, and Brave Queen Esther is one of the newest releases. Our family does not own the Adventure Bible, NIV or the Adventure Bible for Early Readers, so I cannot compare these books to those (to see if the content is duplicated). We do, however, own both the Adventure Bible for Toddlers and the Adventure Bible Storybook, and I can tell you that the wording and illustrations are not duplicated across these three editions. The books in the I Can Read! / Adventure Bible series are worded with simpler phrasing and shorter sentences than you will find in the Adventure Bible Storybook.

Brave Queen Esther is a re-telling of the story of Esther (also known as Hadassah). The original story can be found in the Bible in the book of Esther. The re-telling of this story is done well, is easy to understand, and is accompanied by big, colorful illustrations.

At the end of Brave Queen Esther is a page containing "People of the Bible" (which has illustrations of Esther and Mordecai accompanied by Esther 4:14) and "Did You Know?" (which gives details about the festival of Purim).

The I Can Read! / Adventure Bible series are categorized as reading level 2 ("Reading with Help") and the stories do not feel "choppy" like you might find in some learn-to-read books. With a retail price under $4 per book, I find these books to be a great value.

What another great early reader book put together by the Adventure Bible editors. It’s colorful and can be read by your early readers or you can read it to younger children. It’s very easy to understand for the younger children.

The Adventure Bible has put these books together to make it easy for your child to be able to learn the Bible stories for themselves without having to be overwhelmed by the size of the Bible. These easy reader versions of the story are a great bite sized way to introduce your kids to some of the most popular stories in the Bible and can open the door to great discussion between you and your children.

I recommend these to parents with kids between ages 4-8 or who have younger children that are ready for more than just picture books.
