- Review by The IE Mommy
That is a challenge for me and I'm sure it is for most women and moms. We tend to be our own worst critics and it doesn't help when there's moms constantly judging other moms. Grace is something I pray for and strive for daily so starting my day with a devotional on the subject is exactly what I need.
The devotional is set up like most with a personal story and end with a prayer and room to journal your own thoughts. I really connected with Ann Voskamp because of her openness and honesty. Only by being vulnerable can women really connect with others and I thought she did a great job at this.
The personal stories were really relatable so that helped me and made me want to dig deeper. Each devotional is just a few pages and since it's a story, it's an easy read. Some devotionals are too theological for me. I prefer these types that are personal stories that you can relate to your own life with verse to apply them.
One Thousand Gifts Devotional will literally open the door for the gift of grace in your life. It has helped me to accept and give it more readily and that's an answer to prayer! (Posted on 11/20/14)
