I admit there's something a little disconcerting about coloring in a Bible! Doesn't it just seem wrong? Trust me, you get over that quickly enough! I wasn't sure exactly how it would work since Bible pages are typically really thin. While the Bible pages are in fact traditionally thin, the coloring pages are much thicker. I still would only use pencil or crayon and not markers because it will bleed through to the drawing on the other side.
There is a lay flat binding which does help with coloring but since the drawings go all the way to the binding, it's still kind of hard to get right on the edges.
There are fifty pages to color so it will take quite a long time to get through them all. I like the variety of images offered and how they are strategically placed throughout.
I like that you can even color the front and back binding pages as well as the presentation page. There is no shortage of drawings to choose from!
The pictures are found throughout with their corresponding Bible verse. I love that there is a drawing to really absorb and ponder on the verse. I found myself thinking about it the whole time I'd be coloring that page.
There is a beautiful pink ribbon to mark your pages. While normally I complain that there aren't more features, I actually like the simplicity of this one. The focus is on the coloring and the Bible itself. It's a way artsy people will dwell on the word of God without needing extra commentary or devotions throughout. It's more about just meditating on the word.
The Wonders of Creation NIV Bible would make a wonderful gift this Christmas! (Posted on 12/12/2016)

I think this Bible would make the perfect gift for someone who enjoys the adult coloring books. You could pair it with a soothing music cd and some color pencils and it would make a terrific gift.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.

This Bible has a ton of full-page art with Scripture just waiting to have color added. I feel like it is a great first step in encouraging my girls to meditate on a particular passage while they add their own personalization to the page. The only drawback to this particular Bible is that it doesn't have wide margins so you can't really do journaling on the pages. I do plan on showing them how to add some tip-ins so they can do art on passages that have deep meaning to them.
I am particularly excited about the presentation page. It has the usual to, from, and date sections but it also has beautiful butterflies just waiting to have color added. My plan is to color them in as a special momento from me to them.
This would make a wonderful gift for your favorite budding art enthusiast. Since the translation is the NIV it doesn't even have to be a child! May I also suggest the companion coloring book Wonders of Creation? Those two books and a pack of colored pencils (or markers, or gel pens) would be a really nice and encouraging present.

I love that this Bible has all of the text of the NIV Bible. But, it also has pictures to color, with a key verse on each. The way coloring and doodling for worship has been rising in popularity, this is GREAT.
I would probably recommend this Bible for middle school, on up. The pictures are a little too intricate and complex for much younger than that.

What I liked about this Bible:
It is a delightful Bible geared to ages 8 and older or grades 3 -7. It is a great way to encourage your child to read the Bible. The pages to color are thicker than the actual Bible pages helping to prevent bleed-through. The font in the Bible is crisp and clear, making it easy to read. It is a beautifully illustrated hard-cover Bible. The size is just right for carrying in your back pack. It comes with a presentation page that can be colored, along with a table of contents making it easy to look up the books of the bible and a ribbon marker to help keep your place. The back of the Bible has a page of common weights and measures used throughout the Bible. I also like that when it is opened it lays flat.
I am sure it would make a great birthday or Christmas gift. If you are a fan of the NIV Bible and are looking for an easy to understand Bible or a way to keep your child interested in reading the Bible this one fits the bill!... It has been my experience that sometimes crayon will rub off on the other pages, so I would recommend a good quality color pencil rather than crayons.
