The pictures of this book just don't do it justice. The cover is gorgeous. I love the doodly feel of it. Those little lovebirds appear in the graphics on the cover and throughout the book. The color palette is very appealing with a shabby chic feel.
While I like the visual look of this Bible, what really made me pick it up is the contents. With so many mixed messages for our girls this version is a wonderful encapsulation of what real girl power is. There are numerous character profiles of important women in the Bible along with daily readings from some popular authors like Bethany Hamilton, Annie Downs, and Christine Caine.
I think my absolute favorite thing is the pink highlights throughout that feature the promises of God in Scripture. Makes me want to do that same thing to my current Bible. When you flip the book open your eyes immediately go to that particular verse. Perfect uplift for everyone but especially fitting for teens in the midst of those turbulent years.
If you have a teen girl in your life I would highly recommend you get a copy of this particular Bible for her. It will show her that you love her but more importantly the words that this book contain will reveal to her just how much her heavenly Father loves her.
I received a copy of this Bible to facilitate my review. (Posted on 12/21/2015)

The cover of this Bible made me want to open it so hopefully it does the same for them. The colors are fun and in style with the current trends. I like the little love birds on the top! It is a hardback so it's designed for lots of use!
The inside is just as inviting and ever so girly with it's pink fun pages!
I like that the chapters have introductions that include what the book is about, who is in it and even verses that they might already know. I've never seen such a useful book introduction before that has exactly the right amount of information and more importantly, the kind of information teen girls can relate and connect to.
My very favorite part of this Bible is the growing in faith, hope and love section. This is where application comes into play and really gives them what they need to learn and grow in ways they can understand.
Teen girls aren't easy to shop for but the NIV Bible made just for them would make a great gift this holiday season! (Posted on 12/7/2015)

The “NIV Bible For Teen Girls” is a New International Version of the Bible designed for teen girls living in today’s world. I love that it is a hard covered edition. The hard cover makes it perfect for packing on week-end retreats and taking to church. Often the pages in Bibles are super thin, the pages in this Bible have a thicker feel to them. They don’t tear as easily as my old Bible.
Each Book of the Bible has a brief introduction that covers 4 key points:
1) When Did This Happen?
2) Who Is In This Book?
3) Verses You Might Recognize
4) What’s it About?
I love this introduction. It helps set the book up in my mind. The “What’s It About?” is especially helpful as it describes what the Book is about. My initial thoughts were that some of these explanations could be reworded a bit to make it easier to understand. For example in the overview for Genesis it talks about how God made a covenant with Abraham, when I was in my teens I didn’t really understand what a covenant was. In contrast, the overview for the Book of Psalms describes the different kinds of psalms you’ll find and provides examples. As the reader grows in faith and begins to understand the scriptures more and more, these overviews will take on more meaning each time they are read. Perhaps they are written as they are so that this Bible will be one that you will keep with you well beyond your teen years.
There are Daily Readings tucked within the pages. Covering a wide range of topics that are relevant to today’s teens. You will find the traditional devotions about Making a difference, Power of Words and Loving Yourself, but you will also find tougher topics like Abstinence and the Occult. There is an index in the back of each reading making it easy to find what you want when you need it. These readings are easily identified by the “Growing in Faith, Hope, Love” logo on the upper right side of the page.
The “NIV Bible For Teen Girls” also has character profiles of Women in the Bible. In today’s world our girls are taught that women are exactly like men, and that isn’t the case. Men and women were created differently by God on purpose. These character profiles help your teen girl discover the importance women in the Bible and realize her full potential as a woman walking with Christ.
As you read through this Bible’s pages you will discover some verses that are highlighted in Pink. These are verses that your teen may want to pay special attention too and maybe even memorize. The back of this bible is a Concordance which is a special index that contains an alphabetical listing of important words in the bible. This listing will help your teen find scriptures on topics that are of interest to them.
With the holiday’s coming up this would be a wonderful gift to share with any teen girl. The “NIV Bible For Teen Girls” is a great next step in your teens walk with Christ.

Ages 13-18 Teen Girls
Book Introduction for each book of the Bible
Daily Readings by popular Christian female authors
Highlighted promises of God
I always have a hard time reviewing a Bible. You can’t really review the Word of Life. I like to look at the features and try to draw out those items and how they enhance your time spent reading His Word.
The first thing I noticed when this Bible arrived was the color and design on the front and back cover. It’s very pretty and girly yet, not overwhelming for those girls who don’t like to feel like a, “fluffy princesses” as my daughter calls it!
The binding looks sturdy on the Bible. The pages aren’t extremely thin and shouldn’t tear easily. Bible highlighters don’t bleed through the pages. The font is a decent size for the majority of girls. It’s smaller than I prefer for my daughter but, she has some severe eye issues. That being said, we realize that we need to compromise if she wants to have a Bible designed specifically for her age.
One thing I was a bit disappointed with was that it didn’t have the words of Jesus in red.
I love the NIV for my daughter as it’s easy for her to understand and she can be independent when reading the Word.
This is a great Bible for teen girls. I think for my teen girls it will be very appealing. I would recommend this Bible!

When I let my eleven-year-old check it out, her face lit up. She's ready to become a woman, and she felt excited to have something special that would encourage her and inspire her towards what a Godly woman looks like. Her favorite aspect of the Bible was the chapter introductions. They were informative but still approachable for a budding young Bible reader.
I'd be happy for my teen to get to know the Lord with this great edition of the NIV Bible.

Teens today get a lot of mixed messages. Teen girls in particular have certain pressures placed on them by society, family, friends, and self. The NIV Bible for Teen Girls is designed for girls ages 13 to 18 that are trying to navigate and filter these messages. There are daily readings, God's promises, deep insights, advice, and honest discussions. Teens will find help with relating to family and friends, handling work and other activities, and positive interactions with male friends.
My daughter isn't old enough for this yet, but I am hanging onto it to give her in a couple years. The readings are great, from a variety of female Christian authors. The advice is sound, and works with a wide spectrum of Christian families from conservative to liberal. Women in the Bible are profiled in a way that girls rarely get to see, and the book introductions and concordance help find verses and learn more about the Bible's authors. Promises of God are also highlighted, to make it easy to hear His reassurance while reading.

After looking through the book, not only do I want one for each of my girls, I want one for myself. There are daily readings through out the Bible written by prominent Christian women in this day and age. Women such as Bethany Hamilton (Soul Surfer), Annie Downs , Christine Caine and many more. Each book of the Bible has a list of who is in it and throughout that book we meet the women of the Bible. They also highlighted verses that would be key to memorize. The daily readings address common issues from being a teen girl, as well as talking about life lessons that can be learned. At the end of the Bible there is a word reference, for easy look up on topics that may interest my daughters, as well as a concordance.
I really love the layout of this version of the Bible. The studies fit into each book of the Bible and learning more about the women of the Bible really helps make them more relevant to today.
My girls are ages 9 & 6 and I don't think they're ready for this study by themselves. I may read a few with them. For now I'm using this Bible for my own studies. The things I learn here will help with with my girls now and in the very near future.

I sat down with her to teach her how to use the "NIV Bible for TEEN GIRLS." I showed her how to reference the Topic list, look it up in this Bible, and read God's word in relation to the struggle she may be facing. The words are written clearly and in a way that she did understand the message. She was excited to receive her "NIV Bible for TEEN GIRLS" and in fact said "It's so pretty!" I had to agree with her because the color combinations of this Bible are very attractive. The first few pages consist's of a presented to page, that you can fill out for your child or grandchild. There is enough room on the page that you can even write a personal little note. I did. The binding of the book is put together well and it will last her for many years to come. In today's world I did not feel that 10 is way too young for this book at all. Kids today are grown beyond their years, so I would have no problem recommending this book for a Tween as well as a Teen!

This Bible starts each book with an easy to understand introduction that tells a little about the book and when and where it was written. It also includes some of the main players. It also has devotions throughout.
"NIV Bible for Teen Girls" also includes a concordance and character profiles of women in the Bible. I like the way it has highlighted the promises of God. I see this Bible for more of an older teen.
This Bible is hardback, so it is more durable, and pretty, so a young girl would like to carry it around.
I like this Bible a lot and would recommend it for your teen girl. (Posted on 9/26/2015)

The pages in the NIV Bible for Teen Girls are appealing and very easy on the eyes. It has all black text (including the words of Christ) with various pink accents (headings, chapter numbers, etc.), laid out in two columns. This is the NIV version of the Bible (© 1973, 1978, 1984, & 2011). The text is standard size - not large, but not extra small. It does contain some basic footnotes. There is a pretty presentation page (on glossy paper), printed with an image similar to what you see on the cover.
Some verses throughout are highlighted in pink. I could not find any explanation as to why these particular verses were highlighted. (They do not correspond with the "Verses You Might Recognize" in the book introductions, the verses to read from the devotions, or the verses to read from the "Women of the Bible" pages.)
There is a brief, single-page introduction for each book of the Bible. Each introduction covers a few basic things about the book ("When Did This Happen?", "Who Is In This Book?", "Verses You Might Recognize", and "What's It About?").
There are 366 devotions in the NIV Bible for Teen Girls - so you could easily use this for a yearly devotional.
I do think it is important to point out that there is a reason this Bible is marked for "teen girls" and not just "girls" - the topics in a few of the devotions reference dating, breakups, sex, pornography, smoking, dark arts/occult etc. Whether or not you decide your girl (teen or otherwise) is ready to take on these topics is up to you, but I wanted to be sure to make it clear that these topics are addressed so that you can make an informed decision.
The devotions are placed throughout the Bible, and you can also find the devotions by looking at two indexes at the back of the Bible - one listed by topic ("Topical Index") and one listed in order of appearance ("Index of Devotions for Growing in Faith, Hope, and Love"). The topical index is a helpful resource and will reference a devotion multiple times if it fits into multiple categories. Some of the devotions are excerpts from other books, but some appear to be exclusive to this Bible.
In addition to the devotions, there are pages devoted to certain women of the Bible - 50 in all. These are placed throughout the Bible, and you can also find them by looking at the index at the back of the Bible ("Women of the Bible Index").
There is also a Concordance (approx. 80 pages) at the back of the NIV Bible for Teen Girls. There are no maps like you might find in the back of some Bibles.
All in all, I think that the NIV Bible for Teen Girls is a good choice for a Bible for teen girls.

Each book of the Bible introduction page includes the book name, the year this book took place, who is mentioned, verses you might recognize and what the basis of the book is about! Book introduction pages include cute chevron patterns and pink backgrounds. Each page features adorable pink fonts to point out the beginning of each chapter, and the daily readings are interspersed every couple of pages.
The Bible itself is hardcover, which I absolutely love! A Bible is something your teen will hopefully have for a very long time, so you want it to be able to stand the test of time. I think this Bible is created in a way to help that. There is a large glossary included in the back for easy reference if you are looking for a Bible verse on a certain subject. There is also a glossary for the Daily Readings, a Topical Index, and a Women of the Bible Index. It also includes a Table of Weights and Measurements.
I think this is a lovely Bible for a teenage girl! If I had a teen of my own, I would be giving this to her. I really feel like the colors, patterns and design make it sort of personable. I love the little birds on the front cover and the shabby chic feel to it. I would highly recommend it!
I rate it as 5 stars. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers <http://booklookbloggers.com> book review bloggers program. These introduction summary pages are great to have because it gives you a little bit of the background behind each book. And I'm nosy so I love to know these things. NIV Bible for Teen Girls has 1728 pages and has muted colors of pale green and pink and is completely relevant to the young girls of today.
