What caught my attention right off the bat was the fun food ideas for each party and how they fit into the themes perfectly...and the themes were all original and fun! Everything was bright, plus there are just pages upon pages of wonderful photos to help show you. Perfect for the soon to be pre-teen to teens girl (I would gladly borrow some ideas for my next bash). It was also wonderful to see how things for the parties were divided up and made it easy for moms and daughters to work together...or allowed for the girls to plan their party on their own, with a little help from the parentals. This book also made sure to offer support and to remind everyone about that the party is for fun and time to spend with friends.
This book is a wonderful guide and helper. It is one I will be hanging onto for future references as my littles gets older.

There was a short 3 question quiz to determine your soirée style. There were 3 questions with 4 answer options. I took it just for fun and picked a different letter from the options for each question. To get my answer, I had to go off of what letter I picked most. This didn't work well for me...
I think this book offers some great ideas for an amazing party for girls. I think it is great that it encourages young girls to host a party and to do the planning and hosting of the event. I like the numerous photos and the menu ideas, as well as crafts and activity ideas.
I was a little disappointed that they did not give a backup plan for an outdoor event in the event the weather is bad. While they encouraged the event in Spring, you could have a downpour. I think the party idea is great, but when it is called "best party book ever" I expected it to prepare me for almost anything.
The back of the book did provide some additional resources as well as a few tips for guests. I found this helpful and it would have been nice to include about the weather here as well.
Overall, I found this book to be very helpful. I like the way it is encouraging girls to host parties and giving them fun ideas for the party.

Although the claim as the "best ever" party book may be a little stretch, it really is a great resource! The photographs in this book are more magazine style than a how-to book style. The photographs are really fantastic, but not exactly helpful if you are looking for a how-to. I would have loved to have seen some diagrams or step-by-step pictures. (For example, in addition to the explanation of how to create an invitation for a specific theme, I would love to see a drawing or picture of an example invitation.)
With that said, there were a lot of things that made this book fun to look at and to read. I loved how it didn't just dive into themes and color schemes...but went over the idea of how to be a great hostess. (For example, it went beyond saying "be sure sure to introduce your guests to one another", but actually gave the suggestion to think of things your guests have in common to get them comfortable and talking to each other.)
The variety of party ideas in Best Party Book Ever! is great. This isn't just about birthdays - there are also ideas for anytime parties and holiday parties...and even a pet party.
Another fantastic part of this book is the recipe section. There are a variety of recipes for snacks, drinks, sweets, and even treats for "furry friends". Again, the photographs in this section are fantastic.
All in all, I think this is a great resource for party planning and I think it outshines other party books in the perspective of how to be a great hostess.
