A Reader's Hebrew Bible
“Clear, attractive, and uncomplicated. . . . I will be highly recommending it to all of my Hebrew students.”Michael Williams, Calvin Theological Seminary

More information about Reader's Hebrew Bible

Congratulations and thanks are in order to Philip Brown and Bryan Smith for their gift to the students (and teachers!) of Biblical Hebrew. The unfortunate truth is: for all the deep slogging Hebrew students endure in seminary—probably the most demanding aspect of their formal training—their working knowledge of Hebrew and its responsible application to preaching is typically the first thing to go once diploma is in hand. A Reader’s Hebrew Bible is an invaluable resource to help resist this tendency. It is a handsome and well designed volume with a very readable script and format. Moreover, with its brown, leather cover, it will not look too pretentious to carry to church. I take mine almost every Sunday.

-Mark Gignilliat, Assistant Professor of Divinity, Beeson Divinity School, Samford University.

The Promise-Plan of God
A Biblical Theology of the Old and New Testaments | Walter Kaiser

More information about Promise-Plan of God Walter Kaiser proposes that there is a unifying center to the theology and message of the Bible that is indicated and affirmed by Scripture itself. That center is the promise of God. It is one all-encompassing promise of life through the Messiah that winds itself throughout salvation history in both the Old and New Testaments, giving cohesiveness and unity to the various parts of Scripture.

After laying out his proposal, Kaiser works chronologically through the books of both testaments, demonstrating how the promise is seen throughout, how the various sub-themes of each book relate to the promise, and how God’s plan to fulfill the promise progressively unfolds. Here is a rich and illuminating biblical theology that will stir the emotion and the intellect.

An Old Testament Theology
an exegetical, canonical, and thematic approach | Bruce Waltke

Old Testament Theology Exegetically and theologically it is all pure gold, and every teacher of the Old Testament will gain new insights from working through it.  It is a fitting crown to a very distinguished career."
- J.I. Packer

Bruce Waltke's An Old Testament Theology is truly a great work from the hand and heart of a great evangelical biblical theologian.  Bearing the marks not only of hard work and responsible exegesis, but also a lifetime of creative thought and reflection on central biblical texts, Waltke's Theology will immediately join the ranks as the standard by which evangelicals will measure all future publications in this field.
- John Sailhammer, PhD
