Make an indoor flower shop with a variety of tissue paper creations
Colored tissue paper Chenille stems (pipe cleaners) Scissors Needle
Simple Flowers:
- Cut 4-6 sheets of tissue paper into rectangles of the same size (3x5 up to 8x11 works best). Stack the tissue paper.
- Pleat the tissue paper, folding back and forth like an accordion.
- Wind one end of the chenille stem snugly around the middle of the tissue paper.
- Gently separate each layer pulling upwards toward the middle of the flower.
Artistic Flowers:
- Trace one of the following onto tissue paper: circles, two-sided teardrops (like an airplane propeller), or triangles. Make 4 large shapes and 4 small.
- Stack cut shapes neatly into a pile with smaller shapes on top. You can cut designs into the edges as well.
- Use a needle to poke two holes side by side in the center of your pile. Loop the chenille stem through the holes, making sure the ends are even underneath. Twist ends together to create a stem.
- Gently crinkle and pull up each piece of tissue paper to create petals.
