Zondervan Names Vice President of Marketing for Trade Book Division

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 2, 2008 – Zondervan, a world leader in Christian communications, has named Ginia Hairston vice president of marketing for its trade book division.

In this role, Hairston will be responsible for managing all aspects of the trade book marketing function, setting new strategy, and executing innovative and effective marketing plans. She will work closely with both the sales and marketing teams to ensure the success and integration of all programs.

Hairston joins Zondervan with more than 15 years of experience in Christian publishing, specifically with the WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group, a division of Random House, Inc., where she most recently served as vice president of marketing and publicity. Hairston's responsibilities at WaterBrook Multnomah included managing the marketing of more than 120 titles, oversight of advertising and promotional budgets, and developing and launching new marketing initiatives for the organization.

"Ginia brings a proven track record of success to her new role at Zondervan, as well as a rich understanding of the Christian publishing industry, which will make her transition to Zondervan virtually seamless," says Moe Girkins, president and CEO of Zondervan. "I'm confident she possesses the right balance of innovative, strategic thought and management experience required to lead our trade book division. We're excited to have her on board, and are eager to blend her many talents with those of the exceptionally creative team we already have in place."

Hairston holds a BA in English and Business, with an emphasis in marketing from Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She will begin her responsibilities as vice president of marketing May 12, 2008.
