GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., July 13, 2007 – Zondervan, a global leader in Christian communications, was honored with 12 awards during the 2007 International Christian Retail Show (ICRS), including Christian Book of the Year from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) for Ever After by Karen Kingsbury. Representing the best in Christian books, it is the first time a novel has won and the first time a female author has won Book of the Year.
Kingsbury's novel was chosen from 31 finalists across six categories. She received her winning trophy from ECPA President Mark Kuyper, who noted that the Book of the Year prize took into account sales achievement as well as judges' marks.
Zondervan was also the top winner of Christian Retailing’s Retailer’s Choice Awards, winning six of 25 categories, including all three new categories—Inspired By… The Bible Experience for Audiobooks; Prayer: Does it Make Any Difference? by Philip Yancey for Personal Growth/Prayer; and the Archaeological Study Bible for Devotional and Study Bibles.
The Association of Logos Bookstores also announced its 2007 award winners in seven categories during ICRS. Zondervan author, Karen Kingsbury, was named author of the year.
