Surpasses a Quarter Million Units in Just Four Months

Inspired By… The Bible Experience (New Testament) has sold more than 250,000 units in its first four months of release according to Zondervan, its publisher.

Since hitting shelves last fall, Inspired ByThe Bible Experience has averaged sales of more than 60,000 units per month. For perspective, the industry’s bestselling audio Bible, Zondervan’s NIV Dramatized Audio Bible, typically sells that amount in an entire year.

“It’s not just the fastest-selling audio Bible of all time but the fastest-selling new Bible,” said Brian Scharp, Zondervan’s vice president of Bible marketing.

According to Scharp, it peaked at #2 on Amazon.com the day before Christmas, held #1 on Walmart.com for months, and remains a top seller for many Christian and general market retailers alike.

In addition to brisk sales, Inspired ByThe Bible Experience has received unprecedented consumer satisfaction and national recognition, including an NAACP Image Award Nomination as well as three Audie Award nominations, including audio book of the year, by the Audio Publisher’s Association.

“Consumers are resonating with this product because it’s a dynamic, compelling and thoroughly contemporary presentation of God’s word that pulls listeners in and holds their attention like no other audio Bible before it,” said Paul Caminiti, vice president and publisher of Bibles for Zondervan.

Inspired By… The Bible Experience was the vision of Inspired By Media Group who first brought the idea to Zondervan a little more than a year ago. Their award-winning team’s desire was to create what they often refer to as “a cinematic production of the Bible in an audio format.”

Inspired By… The Bible Experience is now available in stores nationwide. It currently contains the New Testament, with the Old Testament scheduled for release in fall 2007, featuring an expanded cast list.
