GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., January 17, 2008 – Six books published by Zondervan, a world leader in Christian communications, are finalists for the Christianity Today Book Awards, given to honor titles in various categories that bring understanding to people, events, and ideas that shape evangelical life, thought, and mission.
Zondervan's six finalists span five of Christianity Today's ten categories (Spirituality, Missions/Global Affairs, Christianity & Culture, Fiction, History/Biography, Theology/Ethics, Apologetics/Evangelism, Church/Pastoral Leadership, Biblical Studies and Christian Living).
The finalists are:
Kingdom Triangle by J. P. Moreland (Spirituality)

Theology in the Context of World Christianity by Timothy C. Tennent (Missions/Global Affairs)

Glocalization by Bob Roberts, Jr. (Missions/Global Affairs)

Serve God, Save the Planet by J. Matthew Sleeth, MD (Christianity & Culture)
Questions to All Your Answers by Roger Olson (Apologetics/Evangelism)
Sex God by Rob Bell (Christian Living)
"The Christianity Today Book Awards honor those titles that help influence evangelical life. We are proud to have six books as finalists in the 2008 awards," says Scott Bolinder, executive vice president and publisher of Zondervan. "Our goal is to positively impact the faith of believers and the faith formation of those who are searching, while glorifying Jesus Christ with every product we produce."
Christianity Today editors select the top books in each category. A panel of judges (four for each category) votes for the book that best delivers new understanding of the Christian life to readers. Winners will be announced April 1.
