Responsibilities
• Develop Marketing strategies in consultation with VP Marketing; Publisher, and sales channels directors for Zondervan resources in key categories.
• Lead the product development team to develop new frontlist titles and mine existing backlist to effectively and creatively fulfill Zondervan’s mission.
• Lead team marketing efforts through input from Editorial Marketing, Sales, Creative, and Production to deliver complete marketing plans in timely fashion.
• Directs and oversee marketing tactics for all Book or Bible projects each fiscal year in conjunction with Marketing and Promotions Managers.
• Clearly identify the best product positioning strategies for key products through consumer research. Define the affinity groups/key audiences, key consumer benefit, and most significant features.
• Inspire and direct work of Zondervan’s creative communications department staff by providing all the necessary information to accomplish marketing objectives.
• Supervise budget planning and track team budget.
• Provide departmental leadership through development of divisional plans, identifying specific objectives, determining strategies and leading in department activities as assigned.
 
Knowledge/Experience
• At least 8 years in Marketing
• Bachelors degree required (MBA Preferred)
• Experience in publishing industry
• Experience in Advertising/Media planning/PR a plus
