Acuff, Jonathan
Jonathan fell in love with God and the power of ideas watching his dad start a Southern Baptist Church in an old car wash in New England when he was in the fourth grade. After attending an all boys Catholic High School, he reversed his family's exodus north and headed south to Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. At Samford he studied journalism, met his wife, had two daughters and ended up in Alpharetta, Georgia. He's spent the last 11 years writing for clients ranging from mega churches like the one he attends, North Point Community Church, to mega brands like Home Depot. Then, things got funny. On a whim, he started a satirical blog called stuffchristianslike.net. Jonathan hoped this reaction to the popular site stuffwhitepeoplelike would start dialog about how silly it is to slap a God-spin on popular secular ideas. Jonathan told 100 friends. They told 100 friends, and in a little over a year, half a million readers from 200 countries read more than 3 million pages on stuffchristianslike.net. Now, this pastor's kid, with a mind for branding, a sarcastic mouth and a heart for God is challenging how we laugh about faith in a new book.
